Chasing Storms & Stories: My Journey to Wakita, Oklahoma

This May, I’m heading out on a trip that blends two of my biggest passions—photography and storm chasing. I’ll be traveling to Wakita, Oklahoma for the 30th anniversary of the iconic Twister movie, a place that holds real history behind one of the most well-known storm films ever made.

For me, this isn’t just about visiting a filming location—it’s about experiencing the atmosphere, the landscape, and the small-town character that helped shape the story. Wakita sits right in the heart of Tornado Alley, and the surrounding areas offer endless opportunities for photography—from wide-open plains and dramatic skies to quiet backroads and weathered structures that tell their own stories.

Throughout this trip, I’ll be documenting everything along the way.
